Takeo Kikuchi “Koi Lantern” Faded Straight Denim with Koi Print | Japanese Archive Style
Washed-out blue, scuffed at the knee and quietly theatrical. This Takeo Kikuchi denim carries a hand-painted koi fish on the back right leg, drifting up through golden branches and scattered red blossoms, while a second floral cluster blooms across the front thigh. Heavy honey-blue fading, sharp whiskering and contrast yellow stitching give it a worn-in 2000s Tokyo nightlife mood.
Condition: Very good pre-loved condition, 9/10. Natural fading, small distressed patches at the front pocket and left knee, and a visible tear on the right back pocket are part of the original wash. The prints may show light signs of usage. The structure remains clean and solid.
Material: Mid-weight denim with a broken-in, slightly soft look. The indigo base melts into pale blue-grey highlights at the thighs and darker blue through the lower legs, with a vertical slub texture visible across the surface.
Styling: Size M. Measures 103 cm in length, 43.5 cm across the waist and 22 cm at the leg opening. Straight, relaxed fit with a mid-rise waist and a long leg that falls cleanly over boots or chunky sneakers. Pair with a black fitted tee, a worn leather jacket and silver chains for a Hysteric Glamour-inspired Tokyo-after-dark look. Let the koi do the talking.
